In my opinion, this is the THE definitive Virgin Sherlock fic. A post-S3 slow burn fic that is so perfect I wish it were real. John moves back to 221B and slowly begins a relationship with Sherlock.
After being back at Baker Street for 4 months, John decides to ask Sherlock if he would be interested in something more (honest communication, what a concept!). Sherlock is determined to not disappoint John and even uses science to prove to John that he is capable of love. (some toplock but not DFP at all).
Sherlock deduces that John is in love with him and decides to run several related experiments based on the infallible logic of women’s magazines *rolls eyes*. Also the chapter on cuddling is just akjafgidslkdgfrlkms <3.
Sherlock does the laundry (LOL) and accidentally dyes all of John’s pants pink. John is not pleased about this and hurts Sherlock’s feelings. One of my favorite authors.
When John is woken up by Sherlock in the middle of the night, a friendly massage for Sherlock’s neck pain turns sexual. This starts out as a PWP, but after John realizes that Sherlock is a virgin, he slows things down. (I may have teared up a bit)
After a quick and rough first time, Sherlock is unsure about having sex again. When John realizes that Sherlock was a virgin, he makes sure to change his approach. #SmollSherlock4ever
I have read this fic so many times; it is one of my go-tos when I am having a bad day. John has a sex dream about Sherlock……next to Sherlock when they share a bed on an out-of-town case. Lots of pining, feelings, and crying. <3
The author says it perfectly: ‘Sherlock is still a virgin on his and John’s wedding night. John thinks this is the hottest thing ever.’ Frankly, I have no idea how either of them would have the self-control to not have sex after getting together but it is a cute idea.
Written from John’s POV: John is a smooth mf and instead of backing off when Sherlock says he’s “married to the work”, he pushes a bit more and flirts shamelessly. However, John lets Sherlock take things at his own pace. Don’t mind me, I think I just melted into a puddle on the floor. :)
Ironically, it begins in closet. Much awkwardness ensues when John accidentally gets an erection. I like that this fic seems realistic with the awkwardness, nervousness, and tentativeness that surround Sherlock and John’s first time.
The press keep hounding Sherlock and John about their relationship (post-S3) and John keeps saying they are just friends. It takes a statement by Sherlock for John to finally realize that he has been an idiot all this time.
